Enterprise Cisco Network Replacement at Liberty Suntex Marinas

Replaced 15+ Cisco network switches across a 1-mile marina stretch; upgrading 8-port and 24-port switches across 12+ distributed nodes to eliminate recurring outages for docked boating participants.

Problem

Liberty Suntex Marinas was experiencing persistent network instability across their marina network. Aging Cisco switches couldn't handle the load, and the distributed nature of the environment, spanning a full mile of waterfront, made troubleshooting and replacement a logistical challenge.

Approach
  • Mapped all 12+ switch nodes across the marina's full 1-mile coverage area.
  • Sourced Cisco 24-port replacements and planned a phased swap to maintain uptime during the cutover.
  • Replaced and reconfigured each switch node individually, verifying connectivity before moving to the next.
  • Tested full network stability across all nodes before sign-off.
